I have a full-blown novella for you with a Fourth of July theme. This story involves a woman who is a bit of a narcissistic egomaniac who wants to be the Statue of Liberty, the centerpiece, in the Independence Day Parade only to find out that an eccentric towns person has decided that they should have a nudity theme parade to celebrate freedom so now she has to deal with the impending nudity along with her roommate who she signs up with her in revenge.
